Detailed Roadmap for Research Nexus 2027
Research Nexus is a platform under the Global Research & Innovation Nexus (FDI World Dental Congress 2027) for showcasing scientific research and scholarly work to a global audience of clinicians, academicians, scientists and public health experts.
This year, Research Nexus features two independent competition tracks. Each participant/team selects one track to compete in at the time of registration.
- 1. Scientific Research Presentation (Paper)
- 2. Poster Presentation
Familiarize yourself with the platform's objective — to promote high-quality oral health research by connecting researchers with academia, clinical practice and public health, and to recognize scientific excellence in methodology, evidence and impact.
Research Domains (applicable to both competition tracks)
Every submission — regardless of which of the two competitions it enters — must be classified under one of the following six domains:
Since the two tracks are independent and parallel, choose the one that best matches the format and stage of your research. You may only compete in one track per submission.
Track 1
Scientific Research Presentation (Paper)
For researchers with a completed or near-complete study — original research, clinical trial, epidemiological study, or systematic work — to be presented as a formal oral paper presentation to a scientific panel, followed by defense of methods and findings.
Track 2
Poster Presentation
For researchers presenting completed studies, pilot work, case series, or field observations in a visual poster format, allowing direct one-on-one interaction with judges and delegates.
Regardless of the track chosen, all submissions follow a common abstract format.
Abstract — Required Fields
Each abstract (PDF/Word) should include the following:

- 6Competition track selected (Scientific Research Presentation / Poster Presentation)
- 7Research domain selected (one of the 6 domains listed above)
- 8Ethical approval/consent status (if applicable)
Abstract text, in less than 300 words, structured under:
- Background/Introduction
- Aim/Objective
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Conclusion
- Keywords (3–5)
Points to Consider While Drafting:
- Originality — How novel is the research question or approach?
- Rigor — Is the methodology sound, with appropriate design, sampling and analysis?
- Impact — What is the translational, clinical, or public health relevance of the findings?
Note
While saving and submitting the PDF, ensure the file is renamed to match the entrant's name.
Once your abstract is submitted, adhere to all rules and regulations issued by the Research Nexus committee — including submission formats, presentation/poster specifications and event-day conduct. Be prepared to submit additional supporting materials (e.g., ethical clearance certificates, full manuscript) if requested by the organizing committee.
Each track has its own dedicated judging criteria, weighted out of 100 marks.

Facilities extended to participants at the venue may include:
- Presentation hall with AV/projection setup (Scientific Research Presentation track)
- Poster display boards and mounting materials (Poster Presentation track)
- Presentation/poster-viewing slots and schedules

Note
Closing ceremony awards will be assessed by the judging and scientific/research committee. Winners will be notified and announcements shared through official Congress channels
Following the event, participants — particularly award winners and those receiving academic or institutional interest — may be offered:
- Engagement with Academic/Industry Partners: Follow-up discussions for collaborative research, publication support, or joint studies.
- Collaboration Opportunities: Joint development of research, data-sharing, or additional research funding through a network of institutions and industry leaders.
- Mentorship Programs: - Guidance from senior researchers and academicians to help refine and publish the work further.
- Networking Opportunities: - Continued engagement through post-event gatherings, webinars and future conclaves.
